How many times must you “open a file” in the case of emergency. It would seem they don’t do proper record keeping. And open a file that takes 40 minutes. Ridiculous and absolutely useless.

Probably the worst and most inneficient hospital I have ever experienced. From the lack of communication at admissions all the way through to the ward staff. I began to wonder if they are under staffed. Both myself and the patient next to me had to request our drips be sorted out for not flowing three times and they were only sorted on the fourth attempt despite three actual prior attempts, I find this disconcerting. The entire ward had to ask no less than three times for anything we needed before it was received. One of the patients next to me had no power for charging phones, no lights and no TV. The hospital is looking delapidated and I am almost certain I saw cobwebs in pre-op. It was somewhat of a surprise going from an immaculate and tasteful doctors rooms into a hospital this disappointing. On a positive note, I will say, the catering company went out of their way to be helpful and the food was very good. The ward toilets were also cleaned several times a day.

For any check ups or emergencies I would not recommend going here if you are in the to Tongaat/Westbrook/La Mercy Area rather opt to go to Victoria hospital. The receiving nurse had the treated me in a manner that was perceived as rude and unprofessional in the manner she spoke given the circumstances. However, the matron in charge and the attending nurse where nothing short of professional, caring and understanding to situations out of their patients control, they communicated and accomodation not just me but everyone that was present during the recent tornado that hit the Tongaat area. Props to those who care about people and are willing treat them accordingly whilst maintaining their professionalism.
