Long wait, sending in patients who came after us before us, no proper communication or system and seems like the lady at the the emergency reception guesses who came when.

I recently frequented Alberlito Hospital for a day procedure and what a shocker. I came out of theatre and with any procedure when you come around you kind of want some peace. Well a patient was conducting his business affairs from the time that I arrived there until I left. surely there should be some rules in place. Then after the aesthetics started wearing off the pain kicked in and I asked for some relief. After 45min nothing had happened and when I asked again I was told that someone had instructed someone who forgot. I went in for a knee Arthroscopy and something else. Then about 4 hours after coming out of surgery the Physiotherapist decide that she was going to show me how to use crutches. I explained to her that I had had my right knee done last year so I was comfortable with the crutches. She was determined so I got out of bed and as I stood on my left leg blood started literally pouring through my bandages. I dont think that she was aware that there had been another small procedure done. Then came home time which after all I was very keen to leave the hospital. My wife asked for a wheel chair and was told it will come. Well half an hour later no wheel chair so my wife had to go downstairs to get one herself and wheel me out of hospital. Then considering that I did not have breakfast when lunch time came I was given a chicken mayo sandwich nothing wrong with it but wow amazed that someone thought that it would be sufficient. I then assumed that there must be two different rates one for someone who has breakfast, lunch and supper then for someone who only has a sandwich because they are a day visitor. Then lastly when you press your buzzer does it not only take time for someone to get to you but you can read in their body language that they are not really there to serve you with passion. I am a 1960 model and I must say gone are the days when nurses did their work with a passion. It is not the easiest career working with people especially when they are in pain but you get the impression that it now only a “job” and gone are the “Florence Nightingale” days.
