Life Chatsmed Garden Hospital

I have only been to one hospital Kingsway, and I’ve been there a few times, to today to go to Chatsmed life hospital, what an absolutely pleasurable experience, chalk and cheeae to netcare Kingsway, the undercover parking is completely free, they give you an abundant choice of pillows (yes Kingsway I ahd to one bring my own because they didn’t have) the speed of service was much faster, the staff were friendlier, the theatre was cleaner, the food portion was designed for adults and not children, even leaving the medicine was with me in minutes not hours like Kingsway, my only cricism is that they are not in running Kingsway hospital rather than the money hungry idiots that currently do. If you have your doubts I can definitely recommend life Chatsmed, great hospital.

The best Paed ward… the nurses are so accommodating and warm to the mothers and the kids! The best hospital for kids…the service is far the best I’ve received. Well done day and night staff, Life Chatsmed I commend you on the staff you have hired at the paed ward. Keep it up

The worst hospital ive been to privately! Im a professional nurse working in a very busy medical department in a government facility. I went on holiday to dubai in the middle of November in 2023 and when i got back from that trip i had a really bad respiratory infection. I decided to go to chatsmed has it was the closest hospital to me. I went to the trauma unit and was told to be triaged which i did my vitals where all fine but i felt every drained out. I was then sent to a room to await the gp in trauma unit. Dr khumalo was the attending gp that night and in my opinion thee most useless doctor i came across and ive worked with many doctors including specialist in the last 10years of my career! I told him my history of travel my only concern was covid, i had no pain but i was having episodes of vomiting, and dehydration. After examination he ordered some normal baseline bloods and a covid swab . He then ordered treatment while i awaited my blood results. Firstly a MRL was ordered instead of a normal saline, as my blood pressure was perfectly fine. They gave me perfalgan despite me refusing it and telling them i dont need it! I was gcs 15!. He then ordered nebs, maxalon, buscopan. When my results came back everything seemed to be fine the covid test was negative. Dr khumalo then gave me a prescription for augmentin 1g bd and prednisone 50mg daily for 10 days. Not once did i ever come across such high doses that wasnt even for weaning off each day. Even the pharmacist who i took the script to asked if this doctor knows what he is doing. If this wasnt a horrible experience enough, chatsmed sends me a bill in December 2023 of R776 saying there was a short fall from my medical aid, to which i ended up paying. Then lancet sends me a bill in January 2024 for a further R357 again which i ended up paying. Then today the 9/2/24 i received another sms saying i owe trauma unit R189 for JMNS associates. This is ridiculous! For doing barely nothing they claimed so much. This hospital as useless doctors that are not knowledgeable and they extort money from their patients with all these short fall claims with no email giving the break down of what was paid and how much is owed. I will definitely be taking the matter up legally as this is totally unprofessional! People may not like the government hospitals but all that plus the medication would have been given for free at the trauma unit! I urge people to take their health seriously has this hospital is nothing but a money making scheme !
