Hi Doctors are exelent but before and after care not good at all
My wife waited 9 hours to go in for op no body informed us what was going on
They took her vitals 8 am after that only the cleaner poped in now and then my wife over hered they were under staffed they brought her food which she could not eat before the op
Eventually at 5 pm went to theater i had to leave because i had to drive a long way home and can not see at night they said they will inform me when she comes out of theter which they did not i had to phone the hospital at 10 pm to find out how the op went
My recommendation better communication between staff and patient
Was there because my baby was in distress. After an hour there, a file has not even been opened and we were one of three people waiting in line with not one of us getting helped. We saw this was going nowhere, so we drove all the way to life wilgeheuwel.
A file was opened at life wilgeheuwel in 5 minutes and we were done in an hour and a half even though there were more than ten other people getting helped.
I don’t know how it can be legal for this hospital to exist. In an emergency we can’t go to the nearest hospital as you will receive no help. We will have to drive all the way to life wilgeheuwel to get help.
This hospital needs to be closed down so a competent one can be opened for the good of all the people in the area.
In an emergency (or any event) this is probably not the place where you want to land up.
We went there with my daughter (16 months) on a Monday evening, around 8pm. We arrived at their emergency department with my daughter crying hysterically after a fall. That hysterical crying lasted about another 50mins until we decided we had to get to another hospital.
There were one other family before us, so not overly busy. By the time we left, we have yet to open a file and by that time have only been seen in the triage. Where they took her blood pressure, weight and height – through all of this still crying hysterically. Not sure what or how they were triaging?
We followed up twice about when we will be helped, and the excuse was they only “have two computers”
We travelled to Life Wilgeheuwel and even though they were extremely busy with at least 12 people in the ER, my daughter was seen, had X-Rays, and a cast put on to her little leg in just over an hour. That’s right, she broke her leg. And Pinehaven made us wait almost an hour just to be seen.
No empathy. No compassion.
