Went to Montana emergency room with high blood pressure and headaches and jaw pain. After completing forms. MY blood pressure was checked and on the file they wrote I had hypotension. Eventually after a couple of hours went in to a cubicle with 2 blood pressure machines standing that does not work. Crying from the pain Eventually a doctor called out my surname and pronounced it wrong. After I corrected her she said arrogantly if I wanted my surname to be pronounced that way , I must take the u out and put an E in. I was so upset but did not want to say anything because I was already being wrongfully treated just because I corrected her on my surname. She took her phone put her light on and checked my ears , throat and eyes because that equipment did also not work. They put me on a drip. They put an elderly lady next to me , checked her blood pressure while the finger pulse unit was still on my finger. When I confronted the nurse she pulled it off my finger and put it on the elderly lady. I have been sick for three weeks, saw 2 different doctors. This doctor by the hospital said I need to just rest. So I went home. Don’t know why I must pay for a medical aid but I get treated like this and nothing works…….

Montana Hospital is giving state hospital care. This really is the worst hospital. Clearly the people working here are incompetent and do not have the care and compassion needed to work in health care.

I have had 2 seperate horrible experiences with them.

1. They phoned me at midnight to inform me that my father passed away…only to be phoned back 10 mins later and be told – Oeps..wrong patient. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? Never got an apology from management.

2. My mom was admitted. The ICU staff was great. The ICU charge nurse was clued up and did a very good job. She was later moved to the ward – instead of them dealing with a very old and confused lady they tied her up with restraints. She is bruised and full of marks from these restraints. If a patient is scared and difficult inform the loved ones so we can come and assist you or give additional support.

NEVER AGAIN!

If I could I would give this place 0 stars.

I strongly disapprove this hospital. The nurses are unfriendly and doesn’t take pride in their work. ICU was fantastic comparing to the nurses in the wards. After leaving the ICU my 82 year old mother was left for 2 days still in the theater uniform, drip was leaking, no medicine given and still waiting for a warm blanket. When se asked them to attend to the drip, the nurse said she doesn’t know how to change it. Her stoma wasn’t replaced. When she asked the nurse she replied she must do it herself. She was bitterly cold and asked for a blanket, that she still didn’t received. This space is to short to mention all the horrifying experiences. This attitude of the nurses gives you the shivers. The doctors are very good, but the Aftercare is nerve rocking. No wonder people check themselves out of this hospital. Think twice before going to Netcare Montana Hospital.
