Was hospitalised in 2016 when my life and psyche was shattered. They helped me not only understand the cause for the breakdown, but armed me for life outside of personal rediscovery (going back to work & dysfunctional life). This hospital is testimony of life after losing your bearings and the effectiveness of recovery.
Life after a very public breakdown was not easy, but 8years after my hospitalisation, I sure am glad that I landed at Poortview to help me navigate the future.
You’re in good hands … commit to the programme… follow the schedule.. trust them… do all the classes.. make that bed.. take the meds… learn about you…speak up… rediscover yourself.
I am eternally grateful to my colleague Vee who caught me from the beginning of my spectacularly public fall.., my boss Vino for his presence and response in my time of need as well as my friend Nomthandazo for keeping my heart, humour and sanity through the ordeal.
