Very poor service and very disappointing service, my son was very sick crying his lungs out nurses kept passing us, we felt so helpless, I left a public clinic thinking I will get help immediately because my son was In pain, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone especially for the money we pay.
Worst Experience I’ve had from a Private hospital.
Where do I start,
I was admitted at 6 in the morning- thank you for the employees at the admision department knowing what they do, this proses went quite quickly!
As I walked past the pharmacy, popping in, looking for a breastpump, which they didn’;t have, but will order one and it will still arrive the same day- Never happened!
I was first on the theater list, everything still ran smoothly till after my op. I
Went back to the ward.
The food service lady came to take my orders- apparently I was to late to choose luch, I only go a vegan platter. Then I choose my dinner meal, as well as the next days breakfast meal.
When dinner arrived, the lady said she don’t know what happened with my order, but instead of what I ordered I got some chicken salad, because that was the only dinner left/ wrongly dished
I had a foot operation where I am not allowed to put any weight on my foot for the first 3 days.
Every time I am in need of something have to ring the bed, when I need to go to the toilet, and then it takes up to 7- 10 minutes for a nursing staff to either bring a bedpan or helping me to the bathroom.
Later at bed time, I asked 3 nurses to help me to switch off the TV. They tried but no success- lovey sleeping with a TV light all the time in your face- how ridiculous!
But wait it’s not all- next morning starting my shower at 3:30 – because of all the next patients being admitted from 6h onwards.
I asked for them to please detached my drip, only for the duration of the time in the shower and afterwards to make the dressing proses easier – so the qualified nurse said to me that it is a old drip, she doesn’t know how to detached the drip!
Keep in mind I can stand, walk or do anything on my own.
So I have to get showered …
The nurse said to me shower is ready…I was a bit confused, do you expect me to leopard crawl to the bathroom without wheelchair or crutches and still on a drip. So I asked for a wheelchair, didn’t get ANY HELP AT ALL GETTING OFF FROM THE BED ONTO THE CHAIR, NO HELP TO GET INTO THE SHOWER, NO HELP DURING THE SHOWER, NO HELP TO GET DRESSED AFTERWARDS – Because there is a lot of patients being admitted soon!!!!
I have to do everything on my own, with a drip that apparently can be detached.
2 weeks ago I was admitted in the day ward for a scope and on the day – I paid a co-payment at admission. Since then the Hospital has charged my medical aid for the co-payment I already paid and that has completely killed my medical savings.
Trying to get a hold of the hospitals accounts dept. is an absolute nightmare, phone calls constantly ring or you get passed around from person to person. A week ago, I finally reached an accounts person on email and I only received a response today, after a follow up email – needless to say, my issue is not resolved and I am beyond livid.
On the day, the reception was very helpful and admission went smoothly.
I generally find that Nurses in Netcare hospitals are less than patient friendly and I definitely met one at Netcare Linksfield that added frustration where none was needed.
