I couldn’t ask for better care than what I received at the Donald Gordon. A gazillion and one stars for the administrative staff, nursing team, support staff, and the surgical team.
Plus they have a fantastic cafe in the building (when you’re able to take a short walk to) when you are in need of a good cappuccino.
i recently had neck surgery. i was in hospitsl for 5 days and from the time we were greeted until I left, I had such fantastic treatment from absolutely everyone. The fact that everyone including the hospital is contracted in, made my stay even more enjoyable. Im recuperating slowly now at home
Thank you

On behalf of a dear friend, this hospital needs to keep an eye on negligence and caring for patients. A heart rate monitor was let to keep going on low battery twice, which caused a small panic when there was nothing wrong with the patient – the patient’s mother had to ask for the staff to address it. The nurses were also very unsympathetic to the same patient who had just woken up from an operation – and I get it, this is a stressful job and you don’t want to hear people crying – but the patient would have deeply appreciated some kindness at this time. I would appreciate it if the staff at this medical centre could try to be more attentive. Again, I understand that this isn’t an easy job, and it’s a pain and it’s stressful, but I ask this nonetheless.
The hospital has seen better days. Felt like I was in a government facility. Equipment falling appart. Overbooking. Food was ok. At least the mattress was comfortable. Won’t go back there again.
I recommend that your doctor advise on which diet to be on for your condition before you check in. The ward reception aren’t able to assist and doesn’t have a list of the options. For instance Gastro diet for people with digestive track issues.
Clean rooms, daily linnen swop, a lot of blood pressure tests throughout the day (starts at +-1am). Professional, caring and attentive staff. The staff seems extremely happy, which is nice to be around when you feel aweful.
Awesome experience overall.
If you need a Rockstar Gastroenthorologist, give doctor Peter Burrow a chance!
