I came into the pharmacy with Gout. There is a gout pack one can buy. I explained to the pharmacist assistant that I am on anti-biotics and asked if it is safe. She didn’t know and we waited some to confirm with the pharmacist who said everything is fine to take together. I had such a bad interaction, anti-biotics and colchicine do not mix. After feeling so awful the anti-biotic insert states bad interactions and there has even been reports of death. Not feeling well one tends to trust you pharmacist and not read every detail in the inserts. Not impressed with the advice given.
EDIT: Anti-biotic was Klacid XL.
Always kind and friendly as well as accommodating
The only reason I don’t give it a 5th star is because of the occasional shortages of stock (since the advent of COVID). Otherwise, the staff is attentive and helpful most of the time. The late opening hours are also very convenient.
I find the service shocking at this place. It is true that this use to be a very good Pharmacy but lately their services is like walking into a government institute. They are very expensive and put mark up on their prices if you buying medicine through your medical account. I bought a Nebulizer that was priced at R 580.00 but because i bought it through the Medical Aid they charged me R 650.00. My Medical Aid Company only pay their Medical Aid rates, and i will have to pay the difference. The same product at Dischem is almost R 200.00 cheaper, so i don’t know why i had to pay that extra money. I waited for some-one to serve me for almost 15minutes, and had to wait another 10 minutes to get the medication. BAD SERVICE.
It is just a pity that my bad experience has been reviewed 6months later. It is giving us a message of how serious the owner is taking the business that he respond so long after his clients complained. I promise that if I was the owner I would at least once every week check to see what is happening to my business and my clients.
