I gave birth here , Oct 2023. I had a private hospital experience. From check in, to opening up a file, to being assigned a bed. The staff was honestly God sent. They communicated everything to me properly. There was just this one male nurse that gave me a membrane sweep without warning me because its was excruciatingly painful. But it in the long run helped me dilate faster, so I wasn’t mad at that. Can we talk about my midwife?! I need to go back there and give that woman her flowers. One could tell that she loves her job. I wish i could remember her name. She’s caring and compassionate. She took me through every step and when to push. She coached me on how to push. She would even massage my perineal so that I don’t tear, then she asked if she should cut me since the head was too big. She made me feel in control of my birth experience. The post labour department was also smooth sailing. The nurses would come every now and again to check if milk is coming out, if the baby peed and pooped and if we did our salt baths. It was definitely over and above what I expected for a public hospital.
