It’s been over a year since my aunt took her last breath in the ICU. The staff let us sing for God knows how long and it provided comfort that can’t be explained. The staff are compassionate, sensitive and accommodating.
My 2 year old daughter was very, very sick about a month ago and we rushed her to Life Wilgeheuwel hospital. From the moment we got to the ER, we received help very quickly even though I could not find the medical aid card and ID at the time. The guy that attended to us was so helpful and rushed to call the nurses to assist us. Every single staff member in the ER really came through that morning including the Drs. It was one of the scariest moments of my life as she was eventually rushed to NICU but they truly saved my child’s life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for going beyond the line of duty, may you all be blessed greatly.
Clean and efficient. Staff are ok as a general rule, but I do find the nurses not as committed to patient care as other hospitals (they are just doing their job). Admin staff are helpful and efficient, though not overly welcoming and admissions process is not clearly explained beforehand or sign-posted at reception.
OR nurses are exceptional and the recovery room staff are amazing, though! Great doctors and anaesthesiologists; great bedside manner and they take time to explain everything in detail in plain language.
Food is as awful as all hospital food I have eaten; day clinic sandwiches are soggy, and portions less than appetising.
