Zama Mhlongo's Review

March 16, 2024

My son fell and his mouth had a cut, I ran to SRH as it was near . He fell around 3:30 and by 4pm we were at SRH. The queue was not bad. My grans sone is 5yrs and according to the waiting period displayed he was a priority. I also understand the fact that there were patients brought by ambulances etc.

What really got to me was the waiting, and after I was attended I was made to wait again as the DR was going to relate my grand sons matter to a pedetrician whether he needed to be stitched or not.

I waited like a fool, no update till the night shift staff. That hospital can put notices, rights, procedures on their notice boards for all I care, they do not know what iis Batho Pele Principles. My som was crying of hunger and needed water, there was no water in the cooler.. I could not take it, I said to them I will not be handed over to the night staff . I took a picture of the number for complaints , the next thing I was surrounded by them telling me I cannot take pictures, that was ridiculous coz that was the number for complaints. In all this no one cared to address my issue. I went to look for the Dr that attended to us, he was nowhere to be found. I waited till I was fed-up and left guess what the time was 19: 27.

3hrs of waiting for nothing .

The bad attitude of health care personnel is contributing to the downfall of the health care system of this countr.

I don’t wish to set my foot in SRH.
