Honestly the only reason for the “1” star is because I have only encountered 1 or 2 staff that is professional, otherwise I would’ve liked to give it “0” stars. This is the worst hospital I have EVER encountered. And not only due to 1 occasion or even 2 occasions, but 3 occasions thusfar…(but then again, this hospital will never see our family again). From me giving birth and my aftercare in hospital, to my husband being admitted due to a serious bacterial infection. The service was beyond poor. If I had to mention everything negligent that’s happened, I would write a 5 page essay. And we have. To the hospital after they sent us an email after our stay “requesting feedback”. Seems they only like receiving “good feedback”, because we have todate not received ANY response on our complaints, concerns or the mention of their negligent staff. Me and my wife took our baby doughter to Midstream Mediclinic at the baby clinic. We made the apointment to see dr Jannie van de Vyfer. We were concerned about her ears and the dr did take a look at her ears but did not do much. The bill was R1300 and we were told to pay half and claim back from the medical aid. The receptionest then contacted me and said they could not get through to the medical aid and asked if i could contact them. So i said if she cant, how would i then be able to. So the lady said she will try again and let me know. A few days went by with no word untill i received a mail saying it is my final notice to pay or they will hand me over to credit controle. I was shocked and angry as they clearly forgot what the agreement was when we spoke. After some argument i contacted the medical aid and got through easily. I am not sure how hard they tried in the first place. The payment was then made to the doctor and pop was sent. The doctor then proceeded a month later to hand me over and my credit score looks bad because of this. When the collector phoned me a year later, i explained that payment was made long ago. Being frustrated I phoned the doctor and sent them the pop again. The Lady said she will speak to the doctor and get back to me and once again did not get back to me. The collectors then phoned and said that the dr confirmed payment but he does not want to send the pop, so i sent it to the collector. This level of service from a private health care doctor is disgusting! How do you receive money and not wonder where it comes from? How do you miss a payment when pop is sent to you? How do you ask your client to do your job in collecting from the medical aid? How do you never get back to your client? And how do you hand me over without at least a phone call? The level of incompetence is unbalivable!!! You will never see me again.

Had to go for surgery and admitted to the obstetrics ward. The staff were very friendly and helpful – from the receptionist to nurses/cleaners/doctors/physio, everyone was always going out of their way to help me, or greet me, or make me feel special. Thank you.
