Tebogo Zulu's Review

I checked in at Glynnwood maternity ward just over a month ago and had my daughter. The ward was quite okay, the private rooms are well maintained and clean. Some of the stuff was very friendly and helpful and some were just rather unpleasant. The food in that hospital is terrible, small portions and it tastes bad luckily I stayed there for one night.

Ntabiseng K's Review

I personally had a poor experience with the night staff working in the maternity ward, i arrived in labour and they treated me as if having a baby was a crime I committed. I unfortunately didnt get their names but it was a team of a short african elderly lady with glasses and an African young light skinned tall lady. I had to beg for information and when my husband went to beg them for pain medication after i had been ringing bell for over an hour without being attended to they just laughed and told him that pain is necessary for baby to come so even though i am on a medical aid that pays for epidural and i asked for it before the active stage of labour i ended up with an unmedicated birth that i had never foreseen. During the birth they might as well not have been present because they did nothing ? I thought they are midwives? And shocking of all my husband witnessed them throwing about my newborn like he was not even worth anything! Wow just wow its as if someone forced them into the profession. Ladies i hope you repent because i can give a review here but you will answer to God one day for the way you treat people. And then to make matters worse the postnatal ward wow how shocking my nipple shields for breastfeeding were stolen from my ward and i was just ignored when i asked for assistance, it was my first baby amd due to covid protocol my partner was not allowed for longer than 30 minutes a day which was very traumatic considering noone was checking in on me even though i expressed my concern that i was struggling to breastfeed and thanks to that my baby ended up with breastfeeding jaundice due to inadequate intake and that was another horror story that unfolded being admitted to the paediatric ward , which is another review i need to post. Overall very bad experience and i shudder to inagine giving birth there again! Please guys change the way you care for your fellow human beings
