It gets crowded, and when you enter, you have to wait in a queue to get your file before getting started with your diagnosis.
A few days ago, I gave birth prematurely at this clinic to a stillborn.
My husband and I went to the labour ward at this clinic, thinking there would be an ambulance to take me to Baragwanath hospital as my doctor advised for a caeser.
One nurse was extremely horrible & kept saying I want to kill my child, because my doctor told me to go to Bara but I didn’t listen. Further she shunned me when I said I went in labour just few minutes ago and said its impossible but honestly I had a quick labour. In all honesty I would not make it to Bara. She kept saying go to Bara but when I got up to go when my husband said let’s go she shouted me to wait. We need gentleness in labour & people to tell us to breathe not harsh nurses like her who kept shouting whenever a contraction came. She even forced me to walk even though the kind security guard gave us a wheelchair.
Furthermore she forced me amidst pain to take off all my clothing even though I had a long dress which I picked up. She kept shouting as I couldn’t manage to get my clothes off in the pain. Besides this clinic has no curtains so why should we take off our clothes. They didn’t even cover me.
The doctor who another nurse called was very nice👌👌
The other nurses were nice and even let my family visit & console me. One nurse even gave me a bowl to use as we muslims wash after using the toilet.
As far as the room goes, no curtains and the bed next to me had uncleaned blood. My door couldn’t close which was annoying.
In the day one nurse asked why I was crying despite knowing everything 👎 some of these nurses need a little lesson on how to show sympathy.
Overall there is room for improvement. Clinic should invest in some curtains and add a theatre for emergencies & those two nurses should improve their attitudes as we patients may not be paying but we are humans not animals.
Lazy staff how come they took 4 hours to help me, yhoooo I can’t now I’m going to chiawela clinic where they help patients with love
