We employed purposive non-probability sampling by selecting six tertiary hospitals across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria. We recruited pregnant women from various antenatal clinics at each hospital between June and July 2020. Trained research assistants systematically handed out a screening survey to all pregnant women attending antenatal clinics in those sites.
